So I'm learning by doing, which is learning the wiki way.
So far so good. I have a wiki site "Society and Environment learning journey"
Here's the link: http://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/Society_and_Environment_learning_journey
The guy in the video tutorial on the UTas web services website said creating wikis is so easy. I must remember that he is a computer science lecturers and that what is easy and natural to him, may not be so easy and natural to me. Like inserting references at the end for example. I keep looking for help as to how to do this. I managed to insert a link to the Shape of the National Curriculum for History (yay!) and now want to reference it but can't (boo!). So far all of the 'help' info I've accessed is written in tech speak which is like gobbledygook to me. I will learn how to do this though. I'm motivated to, I have an authentic task to work with and my ability in this area is growing with each new task. Reflecting on the past 90 minutes of my life, I can see that I have already learnt how to create a new wiki page, edit it, insert subheadings and enter text, incorporate links and revert to a previous version. Perhaps it's time to rest now and let all of this new learning settle in before I tackle some harder stuff tomorrow.
