Di's feedback

Go to the end of my document.
Interview students who participated this year.
Ask:
What were your learnings from your service experience?
How much did you engage with new media before/during/after your service experience? Which new media (blogs/twitter/social media/wikis/websites/email/google plus etc) did you use in your service learning?

How do you think that using new media added to your insights about people and your engagement with people? Did it help you to take action in regard to your service experience?

Do a literature review - what findings have been reported about the learning experiences that children take from service learning? The literature on service learning will guide my research questions.

Describe Round Square as it has been documented (book from Jeannine Ucderelli).
Explain indigenous Cape York community that SOC is involved with. Describe objectives of the involvement, what the program involves. How students engage with the project and what are the parameters of their participation. Cross curricular opportunities for furthering learning opportunities from the service experience?

My two areas are service learning and new media. The intersection of those two areas is where my interest lies. Leading to potential further exploration of the opportunities for furthering service learning through new media applications.

There could be value in exploring the Understanding by Design process before embarking on any study, to help develop 'Essential Questions'. Start with a quick brainstorm at this site: http://digitalliteracy.mwg.org/curriculum/template.html

Or look more fully through the process here: http://www.grantwiggins.org/documents/UbDQuikvue1005.pdf

Or view the prezi http://prezi.com/k2j-lcgmgtzc/ubd-in-a-nutshell/ (although it is a bit long)
